Abstract

One important tactic for raising the dependability, security, and economy of mechanical systems is predictive maintenance. Conventional maintenance techniques, such planned or reactive maintenance, may lead to needless expenses or excessive downtime. Data-driven solutions for failure prediction, maintenance schedule optimization, and system performance enhancement are provided by machine learning techniques. This study examines recent findings about the use of machine learning methods in mechanical system predictive maintenance. Numerous machine learning algorithms are examined together with their uses, benefits, drawbacks, and performance indicators. Three tables that highlight important research, datasets, and assessment metrics often used in predictive maintenance studies are also provided.
